Woochan, Once Dismissed on Show Me The Money, Now Debuts as “Chaebol Idol” in Allday Project

Woochan first garnered national attention as the youngest contestant on Mnet’s Show Me the Money 6 in 2017. During a memorable battle, he was dissed by rapper Woo Won-jae, who delivered the now-iconic line: “Don’t worry, it’s okay to cry. Santa isn’t real.” The jab visibly stunned the then-elementary schooler, marking a moment that would follow him for years.

But Woochan was no stranger to the camera even before SMTM. As a seven-year-old, he appeared on the EBS reality show Baby Alone (유아독존), where he charmed viewers with his wit, compassion, and clear features. One memorable moment showed him trying to comfort a crying toddler, saying, “I didn’t make him cry. I was trying to feed him, but he didn’t want to eat.” He also appeared in commercials with prominent names like football legend Hong Myung-bo and actress Kim Nam-joo.
Fast forward to 2025, and Woochan is now a key member of Allday Project, a debut group already making waves in the industry. The lineup includes Annie, granddaughter of Shinsegae Group chairwoman Lee Myung-hee and daughter of Shinsegae President Jung Yoo-kyung, earning the group the nickname “chaebol-dols” (chaebol idols).

Their debut title track “Famous” rocketed to the top of YouTube’s trending music category, amassing over 5 million views in just 40 hours. The music video and group performance quickly dominated online discussions, with fans and industry watchers praising their charisma, production quality, and intriguing mix of talent and background.
From being the kid who got dissed on national TV to now standing center stage as a “chaebol idol,” Woochan’s journey has come full circle — and this time, no one’s questioning if Santa’s real.
